BACKGROUND
In the mid 80’s, I was born to two amazing parents Alan & Lynn. I was the youngest of two boys. My older brother Michael would play an important role in my life. My parents separated when I was young and of course it impacted our entire family in a powerful way. Some of the change came immediate with our living situation, however most of the impact for me happened in later years as I learned more about my past and developed a mind that can better understand it.
After the divorce, my mother really took the lead in raising my brother Michael and I. We were not connected with dad growing up as he was always working. Most of our time spent during his custody days was on the computer playing games or watching sports on TV. On the other hand… Our mom was self described as a “military drill sergeant” (I guess because she had too raising two knuckleheads like Mike and I).
Growing up we had a rigorous schedule of daily / weekly / monthly type chores from as far back as I can remember (I’m sure she had me at least vacuuming the house by the time I was 8). She signed my brother and I up for all kinds of sports, activities, events, etc. It was all forced early on but I’m thankful now to have those experiences and be the person I am. I remember my mom would make my brother and I wake up at 7am on Saturday & Sunday’s to go on a few mile walk with her when we were ages 10-16. I remember those years… Parents weren’t cool… Having to wake up early and walk on weekends (after that long week of school… *sigh* young lamb mentality) when we just wanted to watch our morning cartoons and play some video games… Actually writing this makes me really grateful mom was there to kick our ass, give us balance, and put us into new situations that taught us skills to adapt and thrive in this world.
My mother instilled confidence, resilience and sacrifice into my psychology at an early age. Sometimes I hear her words in my head “Trevor, you can do anything in this world that you want to.” “Today is the first day of the rest of your life.” “Keep going, stick it out, it’s building character.” and several others that helped me get through situations in my life.
Growing up my brother and I competed every second. We wanted our moms attention, we wanted to beat each other, we wanted to beat other people, we just love to compete. To this day, not much has changed on that front, however we’re a lot smarter about the competitive situations we will put ourselves in to avoid fights. Even with all the battle scars of competing with big bro – I’m forever grateful for the way my brother has showed up for me in my life and how I know he’ll continue to do so. He gave me toughness, both mentally and physically which helped me thrive.
I give this background of my upbringing to show the pillars I stood on to get where I am today. Everyone has people that build them up, it brings me joy to acknowledge and recognize them publicly. I also want to acknowledge that along with these immediate family members, I’ve had several other people: mentors, strangers, coaches and teachers that impacted my life in positive ways as well. My belief is we’re all one race – the human race. We’re intertwined in this world as human beings that need social connection to live and thrive. We cannot do it alone and we are all connected. We HAVE WON as the human race, so far we have grown the population and thrived TOGETHER vs. what damage we potentially could do if we were “inherently bad”… My action is to lead by example on helping positively affect those around me and within my community.
WHY PERFORMANCE COACHING
While on my personal growth mission, Tony Robbins touched my life and helped me develop an unstoppable mindset by adding more discipline to my daily routine. This has profoundly affected my life in many positive ways by raising my standards. I’m driven to share it with anyone and everyone that wants to learn.
After getting myself a Tony Robbins success coach in October 2017, my life has taken many twists and turns but I can honestly say I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the ride! After going through multiple career transitions, starting new businesses, attending Unleash the Power Within and listening to countless hours of YouTube content to research enlightened thinkers and achievers – I’ve developed the belief that the best investment is into yourself. That belief led me to Performance Coach University with Tony’s son Jairek Robbins.
Performance Coaching brings out passion in me. I’m truly addicted to the feeling I get when I work with someone and they start realizing their limitless potential. It’s the ultimate high for me to witness someone go through that progression of not believing to believing in themselves and what they can do for their life. Selfishly chasing that feeling is why I put the time in to this and call myself the “Coach that Care’s the Most”.
My goals in coaching you are two fold: 1) to help you master the science of achievement to obtain whatever your heart desires and 2) Help facilitate the exploration of your unique art of fulfillment which I believe will lead to greater clarity, understanding and appreciation of “your happy state”.
MISSION
My mission is to help people realize their limitless potential and build an unstoppable mindset around those beliefs.
